Why My Past and Current Experience Is an Asset for You
My background has always been grounded in service. I’m sure I get this from my parents, who still volunteer in their community every week at ages 76 and almost 85! From serving in the military and honor guard to local community service, I've learned from it and enjoyed it all.
I enjoy my job, yes, but I also get a lot of satisfaction serving on the Council and knowing I’m working to make a difference for our community.
Yes, I’m a real estate agent. I left my Air Traffic Control position in 2016 because of an unhealthy work environment so I could spend time helping people with their real estate purchases and sales, while also having flexibility for my family’s schedule. I get to work with friends and neighbors during what can be a very stressful and critical process.
I focus on the Davis/Weber County area and on first-time buyers and sellers, as well as first-time move-up buyers and sellers. Each client experience is uniquely tailored to the individual. I haven’t run my real estate business as transactional. My philosophy is to create the best experience for the person I’m working with, keeping their unique needs and desired outcomes in mind. Given that, I care deeply about housing options for everyone!
Because I know the mayoral commitment will require more time than serving on Council, I have already made changes in my business to offload some work to my team and am even closing my real estate brokerage to remove that obligation completely. I am ready and willing to represent West Point to the fullest.
Each person in West Point has different wants and needs for where they live—and these can change throughout one’s lifetime. Coming from a background of contracts and the dynamic needs of a variety of clients, plus Air Traffic training and experience, I’m able to quickly formulate ideas and make decisions based on the entire scenario being discussed.
As I mentioned in another post, every single decision that the Planning Commission and City Council make is carefully weighed and thoughtfully considered. Are there ways the city can improve and better serve the community? Yes, absolutely!
I’d love to hear your thoughts on this topic. We always need residents who are ready and willing to serve.
